# How to add a video to your popup

You can easily add videos to your popup to make it more engaging! Here’s how to do it, step by step.

### Adding a video block
1. Go to Content in your popup editor.
2. Click on the Video Block to add it to your popup.
You can add:
* YouTube videos
* Shopify-hosted video

###### Adding a YouTube video
* Paste the YouTube video link in the video block.
Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e59kO1jqlto

###### Adding a YouTube Shorts video
* You’ll need to slightly adjust the link format.
Example:
Original Shorts link:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ahL3k0EdX9I
Modified link to use in Pop Convert:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahL3k0EdX9I

###### Adding a Shopify-hosted video
Pop Convert currently supports MP4 and WebM video formats.
To use a video you've uploaded to Shopify:
1. Go to Content > Files in your Shopify admin.
2. Find the video you want to use.
3. Click Copy Link next to the video title.
4. Paste the link into your Pop Convert video block.

### Adjusting the Aspect Ratio
You can adjust the aspect ratio with CSS.

###### For vertical videos (like YouTube Shorts):
To make sure your YouTube Shorts video is clearly visible and displays correctly in a 9:16 aspect ratio, you can use the following CSS.
*👉 Important: Replace #block-2 with the correct block ID of your video block if it's different.*
/\* Update "#block-2" to match the correct block ID where your video is placed \*/
#block-2 .block-content.block-content-image iframe {
  aspect-ratio: 9 / 16 !important;
  max-width: 350px;
}

###### For square videos:
 *👉 Important: Replace #block-2 with the correct block ID of your video block if it's different.*
/\* Update "#block-2" to match the correct block ID where your video is placed \*/
#block-2 .block-content.block-content-image iframe {
  aspect-ratio: 1 / 1 !important;
}

### Autoplaying your Youtube video
If you want your video to autoplay when the popup opens, you need to add special parameters at the end of your video URL.
```
?autoplay=1&mute=1
```
Example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e59kO1jqlto?autoplay=1&mute=1

👉 Most browsers only allow autoplay when the video is muted by default. That’s why the mute parameter is required.
